Safety -Preflight Check ( A must to do)

Helicopter Preflight

Use of thread lock compound on all set screws and non-locking type screws. (Loctite is tried and true)

Make sure you use the correct tools. (i.e. metric for metric and SAE for standard fasteners)

All servo arm screws tight in servo output shafts.

All rods a minimum of 5mm threaded in ball links.

All ball links properly set on balls, and all balls secure. And not overly tight to move.

Servo grommets and brass spacers tight but not crushed. (see instructions )

Servo mounting area secure (check by hand).

Servos secure in trays with clearance all around servo bodies. ( no binding, or interference)

Fly bar unit hardware secure.

Mixing Arms secure and moving freely.

Seesaw moves smoothly without play or binding.

Rotor blades properly finished, exposed wood fuel proofed (if applicable)

Tail blades properly finished, exposed wood fuel proofed. (if applicable)

Struts properly attached and skids secure in struts.

Clutch bell secure to pinion drive gear. (if applicable)

Main drive gear and tail drive gear clearances as per instructions.

RADIO

Switches mounted.

Wire leads checked for nicks or cuts.

Antenna routed to clear mechanics and other electrical wires.

Antenna strain relief provided

Antenna secured at rear of helicopter to prevent catching rotors. Antenna strain relief provided

All leads securely inserted in receiver, all connectors mated securely.

Wires bundled or stowed neatly.

All spliced wires soldered and insulated properly.

Batteries in trans. and receiver, cycled and recharged, tested

Receiver, battery and gyro amplifier foam wrapped and secured

Gyro double sided taped to frame.

Gyro ON-OFF (if separate switch).

Gyro working in the proper sense, gain adjusted.

Range check transmitter

Servos quiet in operation, no jittering within range.

Servos operating in the correct direction on each channel.

Receiver pack charged to capacity.

ENGINE

Inspect for debris inside if new, clear of dirt if crashed.

All engine fasteners tightened correctly

Remove glow plug and turn over manually to check for binding.

Fan housing Secure.

Engine mounts secure.

Drive train alignment checked.

Starter Cone, Hex Start Coupler Secure or belt attached.

Muffler tight and secure.

Remote glow plug wiring tested (if installed).

Approximate mixture settings dialed-in. (see instructions)

Confirm half throttle stick gives slightly more than half throttle.

Confirm low throttle low trim will kill engine.

Fuel System

Tank securely mounted

Fuel lines in good condition and routed properly.

Clunk not touching rear of tank.

Vent Line not touching top of tank.

Muffler Pressure connected.

Pressure test system with squeeze method if possible.

Fuel Shutoff clips installed

Fuel filter installed, clean and tight
